I would like to spotlight a fantastic venue south of Raleigh, in Garner, called the Hall & Gardens at Landmark. I have had the opportunity to DJ a wedding ceremony and reception there recently and was very impressed with the staff, the food, flow and layout. Above all that I have to mention that the hall itself is beautifully decorated and furnished and the gardens are absolutely stunning!
The Hall and Gardens at Landmark is uniquely designed in the French Chateau style reminiscent of Biltmore House and The Palace of Versailles. The Landmark's three grand bronze fountains and distinct European architecture offer a myriad of photo opportunities for the discriminating bride. The grounds provide a magical experience that will never be forgotten.
The Marie Antoinette Grand Salon Ballroom includes carved and gilded trim, 22 window seats, separate mirrored buffet room, six opulent chandeliers set in faux-painted trey ceilings, and state-of-the-art sound system. The maximum guest occupancy is three hundred (four hundred is standing room).
The Hall at Landmark offers Brides the opportunity of a lifetime on their special day. Adding to the magical experience of your wedding day, the Hall, provides enough space to provide Brides with a beautiful and lasting memory.
Large catering kitchen for the caterer of your choice. 12-foot long marbled and mirrored vanities for bridal preparation.
Gold chavari and white garden chairs, tables, house linens and dance floor.
The picturesque old-world garden features a stone and wrought iron gazebo, waterfall, cobblestone walkways, Koi pond, charming treillesage and will accommodate 300 for ceremony seating. The columned building on the garden site houses a spacious women's lounge, convenient bathrooms and catering kitchen.
Landmark is replete with the latest audiovisual technology. Four large wall-mounted Plasma screens are immediately visible upon entering Landmark's elegant marbled elevator lobby and can be utilized to highlight your event, limited only by your imagination. Use it to display your unique video memories, announce your wedding party and express any sentiment to your guests as they arrive.
The Napoleon Bonaparte Cigar Lounge is truly a gentleman's dream.
Let’s meet the Director of Special Events: Jamie Norris!!
The person that represents, manages and “keeps the wheels from coming off” at the Hall & Gardens at Landmark is Jamie Norris. She is a natural fit for the position and ironically, it all happened by accident! Several years ago she was brought on a part time assistant manager, by Joyce Jones, to assist in running the property. She did so well that when the Joyce was promoted to a regional role the task to fill her position was as easy as 1-2-3. Enter stage left Jamie Norris! Since that time she has continued to keep the machine well oiled, making many improvements along the way. She loves her position and it shows! Jamie is no stranger to hard work as a mother of 5 she is always on the go whether it is at the Hall or at home – she is in "permanent 75 mph" mode and would not have it any other way!
I through a few questions at Jamie to help understand how she does things and what sets her and her team apart:
How would you describe your approach to weddings? We strive to make every bride feel like a princess. Like she’s our #1 priority! Because of this stand we NEVER double book on a date. It is the only way they can fully focus on one bride’s special day!
What do you find most rewarding about your job? I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. Every wedding is completely different! Most of all, I love working with people during the happiest time of their lives!
What are some of the things that set you and the Hall & Gardens at Landmark apart from other companies? We are completely flexible and can quickly adapt to everyone’s expectations and different culture. That’s so important in this wonderful place we call the Triangle, known the world over as one of the most eclectic and diverse communities in the states!
What’s one of the most awesome things you’ve seen at a wedding? We hosted a traditional Indian wedding recently, which comes with many exciting events and features. The groom made his entrance on a white horse!
What’s the biggest mistake people make in their planning? I feel the biggest mistake or oversight is not having a wedding planner or at least a professional day of coordinator. There are so many things that happen making the upkeep and organization too much for anyone to handle that’s not there specifically to manage the event.
Jamie loves her job and feels very lucky to have a supervisor, Joyce Jones, to help her behind the scenes. In her words: “I know I could not handle the pressure of big bridal shows, tastings, and marketing without her experience”.
The Landmark Wedding Director.
We should mention Kathy Moore, who plays a big role in decorating for our shows, tasting and also is the Landmark wedding director for brides who choose her services.
If you are putting together your wedding day plans I would strongly encourage that you make an appointment to tour The Hall and Gardens at Landmark! They offer convenient hours and will work with your schedule. Their tour takes approximately 45 minutes, but she will take all the time needed to answer all of your questions.
